Elementary Spanish is a new group and members are invited!  The group is aimed at members who are interested in developing or reviving their basic conversational Spanish.  Perhaps you would like to get beyond ordering 'dos cervezas, por favor' and be able to pass the time of day with the locals.  The group is still settling in, and we would welcome a few more members.

We usually prepare in advance a short piece to read out (the use of Google Translate etc is allowed!), and then the group translates it, and members can ask questions and contribute.  We also read and translate texts from books or other sources that members have brought along.  At present, we plan to meet in Billericay Library on the first and third Friday of the month.   The first meeting of 2025 is planned for January 17th. 

Fluent Spanish speakers would find the level rather basic, but we would very much welcome any more proficient members who would be prepared to come along and provide guidance on grammar and pronunciation.  If you are an absolute beginner, there may be a separate tutor-led group; this is under discussion, so watch this space.....
